You will be the Sr Manufacturing and Process Engineer (Missile Assembly) for the Pike County Operations (PCO). Our team is responsible for creating high‑tech solutions in advanced missile manufacturing to meet next‑generation warfighter needs.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Sr Manufacturing and Process Engineer (Missile Assembly) you will be responsible for driving technical excellence on the production shop floor, shaping manufacturing processes, and delivering digital tools that boost productivity.
- Analyzing engineering data to develop new manufacturing processes and detailed work instructions.
- Integrating new assets and technologies into the factory.
- Supporting area‑wide continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance quality and reduce cost.
- Investigating root‑cause of quality defects and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing process equipment and tooling.

Schedule for this Position4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
Basic Qualifications- Degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline at the Bachelor’s level and 5+ years production engineering experience OR 3+ years production engineering experience and a related Master’s degree.
- Knowledgeable of General Manufacturing Processes with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience interpreting engineering requirements from product data models, drawings, parts lists and specifications.
- Experience conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- High level of mechanical hands‑on abilities to perform or assist in missile assembly and test, along with repairing nonoperating tools and equipment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist with obtaining an interim Secret clearance prior to start. Additionally, the candidate must pass an ATF background check to be an employee possessor of explosives or other ATF‑regulated items.
- Working knowledge/experience of manufacturing mechanical assembly processes, electronic testing methods, factory automation equipment, industrial safety processes, technical writing, and teaming.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications and schematics; understand basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) references; create and maintain CAD models and drawings.
- Strong hands‑on assembly/disassembly/troubleshooting skills of mechanical, electrical, industrial, and/or home equipment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software DELMIA Apriso MES and SAP ERP tools.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
