Description
You will be the Tool Engineer Senior / Tool Design / GD&T for the Pike County Operations (PCO) team. Our team is responsible for creating innovative solutions to manufacture missile components and final assemblies, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company requirements.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Senior Tool Designer, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, fabricate, and implement special tools and fixtures, utilizing CAD software such as PTCCreo and CATIAV
5. You will create detailed tool design CAD models and drawings, and provide shop‑floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Collaborating with missile designers, production operations, and stakeholders to conceptualize and design special tools and fixtures
- Creating detailed tool design CAD models and drawings using PTCCreo and CATIAV5
- Providing shop‑floor support to resolve tooling, technical, and manufacturing‑related issues
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations, company command media, industrial safety, and engineering requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or a related technical discipline at the Bachelor level or above from an accredited college
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Tool Design or 4 years of professional experience in Tool Design with a GD&T certification
- Must have a complete understanding of drafting methods and a proven track record of creating 3D CAD models and engineering drawings of various tools, support equipment, and factory equipment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting
- Must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background investigation to obtain “employee possessor” approval (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations
- CREO / Pro‑E experience with a focus on tooling, taking a concept through to final design and fabrication
- Hands‑on mechanical assembly skills with building / assembling hardware, and the ability to clear verbal & written communicate skills, the ability to provide clear direction to all levels of education
- Experience with manufacturing processes (electronic, mechanical, optical assemblies), GD&T, precision machining, assembly sequences
- Experience with Systems, Applications & Products (SAP) and Windchill PLM

Citizenship and Clearance RequirementsMUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
