Workship

The Workship position in Assessment & Technology is responsible for assisting the Technology Coordinator with the maintenance of computer labs and classroom technology in Hawkins Hall, including cleaning two computer labs and assisting with updating broken equipment for upgraded versions in 16 classrooms; and maintaining stock inventory of all needed equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a current Troy University student
• Knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals such as ELMO document cameras, and desktop/laptops in the PC format rather than MAC
• Ability to connect USB, HDMI, and VGA cables and exhibit good cable management practices

Please note:

Student positions are FICA/Medicare tax exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare tax exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, and/or Summer.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an IT or computer science program
• Experience with audio/visual equipment
• Ability to work during the summer
• Proficient in assembling carts, tables, etc.

Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility.

Based on student class schedule

Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to climb ladders and work above the head with ease. Ability to bend and work in low cramped areas. Ability to upgrade equipment by picking up and installing speakers, webcams, projectors, etc.
