Workship
The Workship position serves to implement programming in the Office of Civic Engagement. Student workers are responsible for communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders; taking initiative to plan, organize and implement academic and co-curricular programming; multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment; assisting with administrative support; working with local youth and seniors; flexibility to change plans regularly to meet adapting needs;
contributing to a positive environment for colleagues and volunteers; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a current Troy University student enrolled at least half-time.
- Ability to perform work with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficient skill at Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience serving in community and non-profit contexts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring.
- Experience leading groups.
- Participation in service projects.
- Experience giving presentations.
- Experience managing social media.
- Participation in discussions on current events.
- Publicity Experience (designing flyers, social media post).
- Office Experience (answering phones/emails, filing paperwork).
- Experience working with community agencies (nonprofit, school, government agency, etc.)
Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility.
Work Hours:
15 hours per week.
