Job Description
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the JASSM/LRASM program in Troy, AL. This position provides quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for ensuring quality is built into the product by developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining work instructions, evaluation and control protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. The engineer collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions, devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating product precision and production equipment accuracy, designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, conducts quality assurance tests, performs statistical analysis to assess the cost and determine responsibility for non‑conforming products, audits quality for deficiency identification, ensures corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and may specialize in design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, reliability, inventory control or research and development related to product or process quality.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment, and conducts quality assurance tests.
- Performs statistical analysis to assess cost of and determine responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Audits quality for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant.
- Investigates and resolves non‑conformance issues through root cause/corrective action.
- Seeks continuous improvement through product, process, and surveillance audit/assessment activities, completing Hardware Quality Audits (HQAs) and Foreign Object Elimination (FOE) Walk Downs, and implementing corrective and preventive measures.

LocaleTroy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. It has hot, humid summers and mild winters, small‑town charm, a university campus, and is within an hour south of Montgomery, about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach, and about three hours from Atlanta.
Minimum Education RequiredBachelor's degree.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's in a STEM discipline from an accredited college.
- U.S. citizen; this position requires a government security clearance and special access to a facility.
- Must pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background check to obtain employee possessor status for explosives or other ATF‑regulated items.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and retain a secret clearance.
- Experience providing quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
- One or more years of quality experience.
- Lean Six Sigma / Green Belt or higher certification.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
- Quality discipline internship or DoD industry internship.
