Job Overview

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the JASSM/LRASM program in Troy, AL. This position provides quality engineering support in a manufacturing environment. The engineer records and maintains work instructions, evaluation, and control protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished product. They collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to establish quality standards, devise and implement inspection methods and tests, design and analyze inspection and testing processes, perform statistical analysis on nonconforming products, audit quality, implement corrective measures, investigate nonconformance, and seek continuous improvement through audit and corrective activities.

• Ensure quality is built into the product through development and maintenance of work instructions and control protocols.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to establish quality standards.
• Devises and implements inspection and testing methods, evaluates precision and accuracy of products and equipment.
• Design and analyze inspection and testing processes and conduct quality assurance tests.
• Perform statistical analyses on nonconforming products to assess cost and responsibility.
• Audit quality for deficiency identification and correction.
• Ensure corrective measures meet reliability standards and documentation compliance.
• Investigate and resolve nonconformance issues through root‑cause analysis and corrective action.
• Drive continuous improvement through audits, hardware quality audits, FOE walk‑downs, work audits, and implementation of corrective/preventive measures.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited college.
• U.S. citizenship required; position requires a government security clearance and ATF background check for employee possessor status.

• Experience providing Quality Engineering support in a manufacturing environment.
• At least one year of quality experience.
• Lean Six Sigma / Green Belt or higher certification.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
• Quality discipline internship or DoD industry internship experience.
• Ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment.

Clearance Level: Secret. The role requires a government security clearance and ATF background check.

Work is onsite Full-time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Schedule:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
