We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Mortgage Loan Officer to guide clients through the mortgage and consumer loan process. The ideal candidate will assess borrowers' financial situations, recommend appropriate loan products, and ensure timely processing and closing of loans. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of mortgage lending regulations and products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.
- Interview loan applicants to determine financial eligibility and recommend suitable loan products.
- Collect and analyze applicant financial information, credit reports, and supporting documentation.
- Explain mortgage products, terms, and rates clearly to clients.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state mortgage lending laws and company policies.
- Work with underwriters, processors, and other internal departments to ensure timely and accurate loan processing.
- Maintain knowledge of current market trends, lending guidelines, and available loan programs.
- Attend networking events and participate in community outreach to build business and promote the bank's lending services.
- Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of mortgage lending, sales, or financial services experience
- A valid NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) registration required
- In depth knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs
- Familiarity with federal and state lending regulations
- Excellent communication, sales, and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and organized with strong analytical skills
