Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking 1-2 Staff Accountants for a prestigious, full-service CPA firm in Troy, MI
. This is an exceptional opportunity for a versatile accounting professional to join a practice led by seasoned CPAs, valuation experts, and forensic specialists. Unlike "siloed" roles at larger firms, this position offers 360-degree exposure to tax, audit, and advisory engagements. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with firm partners, handling everything from complex corporate tax returns to high-level audit reviews and IRS notice resolution.

- Tax Compliance & Preparation:
Prepare high-accuracy federal and state returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts - Assurance Engagements:
Participate in the full lifecycle of audits, reviews, and compilation engagements for a diverse client portfolio - Advisory & Planning:
Assist with strategic tax planning for businesses and high-net-worth individuals; conduct research on federal and multi-state tax matters - Client Consulting:
Provide hands-on Quick Books consulting and bookkeeping support to ensure client financial integrity - Audit Defense:
Provide critical support in responding to IRS, state, and local tax notices and inquiries - Multi-State Filings:
Assist with complex multi-state tax projections and filings to ensure multi-jurisdictional compliance - Partner
Collaboration:
Work directly with senior team members and partners to deliver high-stakes projects under tight deadlines, particularly during peak tax seasons
- Education & Credentials
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting is REQUIRED
- CPA License or CPA-track status (active study for the exam) is highly preferred
- Minimum of 2-7 years of professional experience within a CPA firm environment
- Proven experience in both Tax and Audit (candidates with only one functional area will be considered if willing to train)
- Hands-on proficiency with professional tax software and Quick Books
- Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of GAAP and federal/state/local tax regulations - Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written skills for direct client interaction and internal collaboration - Analytical Mindset:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage diverse engagements independently - Resilience:
