Accounting Manager, Commercial

A great client at UHY is seeking a Accounting Manager, Commercial
. The ideal candidate will have warranty accounting experience, expertise in ASC 450, and experience leading technical accounting initiatives.

The Accounting
Manager, Commercial role is a hybrid position, with 1 day each week being onsite (this is flexible). This is a client direct hire position.

• Lead the accounting and policy development for warranty and service liabilities in accordance with GAAP and ASC 450
• Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Legal, Engineering, and FP&A to evaluate the accounting impact of new programs and services
• Develop and maintain warranty accounting methodologies, estimates, and internal controls
• Prepare and review warranty accruals, true-ups, and related financial disclosures
• Serve as the technical accounting lead during audits for warranty-related matters
• Design and improve accounting processes, controls, and ERP workflows to support company growth
• Collaborate with FP&A on forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for warranty and service costs
• Mentor and develop accounting team members while driving continuous process improvements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA required; active license preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in public accounting
• Strong knowledge of ASC 450 and technical accounting principles
• Experience with warranty accounting, service accruals, or contingent liabilities
• Automotive, EV, or related industry experience preferred
• Advanced Excel skills;
  Net Suite or similar ERP experience preferred
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build scalable accounting processes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
