Sr. Tax Manager - Partnership & Real Estate

What you'll do
- Oversee and review complex federal and state partnership and LLC tax returns (Form 1065) across real estate, private equity, and operating entities.
- Lead advanced real estate tax strategies, including cost segregation studies, Section 1031 exchanges, depreciation modeling, and passive activity loss planning.
- Advise clients on partnership structuring, capital account maintenance under Section 704(b), tax basis calculations, and complex special allocations.
- Deliver transactional tax consulting for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, debt refinancing, and large-scale developments.
- Serve as the primary advisor for real estate clients while collaborating directly with outside attorneys, lenders, and financial advisors.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate tax staff and seniors through constructive coaching and effective delegation.
- Research complex developments in Subchapter K and real estate tax law, while supporting firm growth through client outreach and industry involvement.
What you need
- 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on partnership and real estate taxation.
- Active CPA license.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Deep technical knowledge of Subchapter K, real estate tax regulations, and passive activity rules.
- Proficiency with tax preparation and research software such as CCH Axcess, GoSystem, or Bloomberg Tax.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST) or LLM in Taxation.
- Experience with Opportunity Zone investments, tax credit projects, or complex real estate joint ventures.
- Proven track record of managing multiple complex client relationships simultaneously.
Pay & benefits
- Base salary: $155,000-$195,000 depending on experience, plus performance incentives.
