Position Summary
Performs a wide variety of technical and clerical support services to assist the efficient operation of the assigned middle school library and building while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides onsite technical and hardware support for laptops, desktops, printers, Interactive Flat Panels, classroom audio systems, and software applications.
- Maintains building A/V technology such as analog video network, digital network, TV monitors, DVD/VCR players, and printers.
- Installs and supports various software applications, including remote imaging of computers.
- Maintains building computer inventory via Resource Manager.
- Provides basic troubleshooting for student devices and coordinates with the Help Desk to repair student and staff computers.
- Coordinates with district Help Desk to resolve building issues such as account management, cabling, programming drops, and hardware repair.
- Oversees computerized library circulation and catalog system, including checking in and out books.
- Assists students and staff with all media center hardware, applications, and materials throughout the building.
- Conducts inventory of books, equipment, and supplies every other year.
- Updates and maintains PowerPoint presentations for School News and other video content.
- Purchases and maintains media supplies, books, and materials.
- Processes new books, computers, and other inventory with asset tags; enters new items into the Follett Resource Manager program.
- Checks student devices in and out via the Follett Resource Manager.
- Schedules use of media center, computer labs, and equipment.
- Prepares overdue and fine notices; collects money for overdue, damaged, or lost library media materials; and keeps a record of money received.
- Maintains student computer login and password account list; resets passwords when necessary.
- Updates student information in the computerized library circulation system.
- Operates office machines such as photocopiers, scanners, printers, laminators, calculators, facsimile machines, voicemail systems, and telephones.
- Communicates with customers, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, and address complaints.

Education, Experience, Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year of related experience providing clerical support.
Knowledge:
- Basic math.
- Principles and processes for providing customer service.
- Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, file and record management, and office procedures.
- Structure and content of the English language, including grammar and spelling.
- Library Dewey Decimal System (preferred).
- Basic operations and maintenance of audio visual equipment (preferred).
Abilities:
- Rapidly grasp position-specific software and hardware.
- Troubleshoot computer software, hardware, audio-visual equipment, and related electronics.
- Read and interpret district policies, guidelines, and regulations.
- Participate willingly in training classes.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions.
- Multi-task, meet deadlines, organize, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
