Litigation Assistant

Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a leading national law firm in the search for a Litigation Assistant to join its Troy, Michigan office.

This role provides high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals, ensuring the efficient delivery of legal services in a fast-paced, professional environment. The Litigation Assistant will be responsible for document preparation, court filings, calendar management, file maintenance, and overall case support while anticipating attorney and client needs.

This is a hybrid position offering flexibility, competitive compensation, and strong benefits within a well-established national law firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, type, transcribe, edit, and proofread correspondence, legal documents, and memoranda.
  • Manage electronic and non-electronic court filings in state and federal courts.
  • Coordinate attorney calendars, including meetings, depositions, and travel arrangements.
  • Process conflict checks, new matter intake, and prepare engagement documentation.
  • Maintain and organize digital and physical case files within document management systems.
  • Screen and route incoming communications; manage mail and delivery coordination.
  • Enter attorney time and assist with billing and expense reporting.
  • Support case preparation by gathering and organizing documents and materials.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.
  • 3–5 years of legal administrative or litigation support experience.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures (including e-filing systems).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with legal and document management systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and proofreading ability.
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High level of confidentiality and discretion.
