Our client is a manufacturing organization involved in the design, development, and production of complex engineered components and systems. Position Overview
We are seeking a Program Purchasing Buyer to support new product introductions and cross-functional initiatives. This role is critical in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and timely product launches while collaborating with engineering, operations, and global procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead program-specific purchasing efforts, ensuring cost targets, quality expectations, and launch timelines are met
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve sourcing, timing, and cost-related issues
- Execute sourcing decisions in alignment with procurement strategy and budget parameters
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to support design and development objectives from a supply chain perspective
- Represent purchasing in program milestone reviews, status meetings, and project audits
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements
- Support supplier negotiations, RFQ coordination, and alignment with commercial terms
- Perform additional duties as needed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of purchasing or sourcing experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking ability
- Working knowledge of product development and launch processes
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods such as molding, assembly, or machining
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
