STRATEGY ASSOCIATE

This role is within Aptiv’s EDS segment and involves helping shape the company’s long-term strategic priorities. The role supports the leadership team to define, plan, and execute strategic initiatives in areas such as growth, diversification, profitability, and business foundations as the segment evolves.

This is an exciting, high-impact opportunity to contribute to one of the world’s leading automotive harness suppliers. As a member of the Strategy team, you will work closely with the CEO, his direct reports, and senior executives to shape strategic priorities and prepare execution plans. Topic areas will include:

• Growth – Identify and execute levers to drive sustained, profitable growth
• Diversification – Expand into margin-accretive, fast-growing end markets outside of Automotive and Commercial Vehicles
• Profitability – Identify and execute initiatives to maintain and enhance profitability (e.g., supply chain, vertical integration, footprint, automation, efficiency)
• Business foundation – Optimize global execution capabilities (e.g., human capital, quality & delivery, customer & regional mix, footprint & efficiency)

• Execute consulting-like projects, working with stakeholders in businesses and corporate functions; structure problems, gather and analyze data, generate insights, translate into written outputs, and deliver executive-level readouts and recommendations
• Develop fact bases and market models around key product segments and technology trends impacting the business (e.g., ADAS adoption, EV penetration, software-defined vehicle architectures, 48V architectures)
• Conduct detailed analysis of customers and competitors
• Shape and drive content creation for executive leadership in key meetings (e.g., Board of Directors, Investor Meetings, GLT meetings)

The ideal candidate will combine highly structured, analytical thinking with sound business judgment and creativity to support the management team. S/he will bring:

• Interest and/or domain expertise in areas relevant for the business (e.g., automotive, wire harnesses)
• Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis, planning, and problem solving
• Ability to conduct complex quantitative analyses (e.g., Excel modeling)
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop polished visuals (PowerPoint) and communicate effectively with senior audiences
• Great energy, tenacity, and resourcefulness in tackling challenging problems

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field
• Minimum of one year of experience in top-tier consulting or comparable experience (e.g., investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy/development) in technology or automotive industries
• Diverse experience in or around automotive/manufacturing/industrial goods
• Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
