Director, Business Development - Mobility Americas

The Business Development and Strategy Director is accountable for facilitating the development of business unit strategic plans and the identification of initiatives necessary to achieve organizational growth objectives.

• Head new Business Development and Strategy; responsible for driving our North American Mobility business.
• Lead the entire business development cycle: portfolio development, go‑to‑market strategy, customer base development and contract negotiations.
• Drive strategic decisions by analyzing complex markets and determining overall attractiveness through competitive analysis.
• Formulate, research, prepare and communicate strategic, operational, and financial business plans that deliver enterprise growth expectations.
• Ensure consistent, efficient, and cost‑effective processes, procedures, and accountability.
• Act as strategic thought leader in support of business direction.
• Manage special projects impacting the organization and/or key business unit partners.
• Monitor and report on performance relative to plan and strategic alignment.
• Identify business unit issues, coordinate analysis and initiate corrective action.
• Develop customer relations in strategic markets and drive project acquisition by building customer relationships, planning, coordinating and hosting industry and customer events.
• Evaluate new project opportunities regarding commercial attractiveness, customer requirements and fit to Axalta capabilities.
• Lead the pricing strategy and ensure competitive pricing while minimizing exposure to business loss, evaluating and implementing tools such as Campfire, JUNO, Sales Force, Microsoft BI, TIPS, and Office.
• Build cross‑functional relationships to ensure business targets and quotes align with strategy, manufacturing, technical capabilities and supply‑chain execution.

• Finance or Business bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive business development, strategy, and supervisory experience in related industries.
• Experience in automotive or manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Understanding of the automotive industry and production processes and capacity planning.
• Strong IT systems knowledge: SAP ERP (S4 Hana a bonus), statistical modeling tools, Power Bi, Tableau, and advanced Excel.
• Demonstrable experience in statistics, forecasting and management information methods and techniques.
• Experience delivering results through cross‑functional work and leading people.
