The Student Support Specialist assists in providing multi-tiered systems of support to students. The assistant works directly with students who have a variety of needs. Some of the responsibilities include providing one‑on‑one or small group instruction, supporting intervention strategies, and collecting data on student progress.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Positive attitude and rapport with students
• Ability to work cooperatively with teachers and students

• Experience as an instructional assistant
• Experience working with at‑risk students

• Check‑in and connect with at‑risk students regarding their academic progress, attendance, and behavior
• Run interventions during the day that support academic growth
• Run credit recovery programs after each trimester
• Work collaboratively as member of building Multi‑Tiered Systems and Support (MTSS) team
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school‑related information
• Shall perform other duties as assigned by the principal

• This position may require long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
• The position may require occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
• Work may take place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.

Monday - Friday, 7:40 am to 2:40 pm – 6.50 hours daily, 32.50 hours weekly, August to June

$14.46 per hour

Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, 6 School Closure Days, Retirement, Holidays, and access to the SETSEG Healthcare Clinic. (per the bargaining unit agreement)

The SETSEG Healthcare clinic can be used by Aides/Paraprofessionals and immediate family members (spouse and/or dependents), at no cost. The clinic offers primary care, x‑rays, some medical procedures, lab work, and limited pharmacy services.

All candidates are required to complete the Style Profile™ assessment as a component of their application. This assessment is intended to be one component of the information used to assist administrators during the selection process. The Style Profile™ assessment is approximately 30 minutes in length and is a multiple‑choice format.
