Manufacturing Engineer-Machine Design Location:
Troy, Michigan, (not open for relocation). Work setting:
Onsite/In-person. Great opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer – Machine Design to join a tight-knit engineering team responsible for creating custom mechanical equipment. In this role, you will develop designs from the ground up and stay actively involved through fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation. Success in this position requires comfort transitioning between design work, hands-on build environments, and customer-facing settings.

• Create mechanical concepts and develop machine mechanisms from idea to production.
• Build and refine CAD models; support detailed drawings and simulations.
• Apply GD&T, fits/tolerances, and material selection for machine components.
• Manage machine builds, suppliers, and hands on assembly/debug.
• Travel to customer sites for installs, set ups, testing, and demonstrations.
• Support BOMs, manuals, and technical reviews.
• Assess feasibility of new product designs.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on machine engineering/build experience.
• Strong concept development and mechanism understanding.
• Proficiency in CATIA, NX, Solid Works, or Creo.
• Experience with GD&T and metal/material selection.
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
• Willing to get dirty and own the process end to end.
• Travel varies from none to ~30%.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Familiarity with sewing related mechanisms.
• Experience with Teamcenter or similar PLM tools.
• Strong modeling/drawing skills.
