Epitec is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our automotive client's team. As a Quality Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives within engine assembly operations.

  • This is a 2nd shift position (Monday - Friday, 3 PM - 11PM)
  • This is an ongoing W2 contract
  • This is an onsite position in Troy, MI
Top Responsibilities
  • Coordinate quality objectives across cross‑functional departments.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including error‑proofing and mistake‑proofing activities.
  • Drive quality issues to closure through established feedback loops.
  • Analyze assembly process and SPC data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to implement process improvements.
  • Utilize advanced quality tools such as PFMEA to enhance assembly quality.
  • Maintain consistent communication with leadership on progress, developments, and emerging concerns.
  • Facilitate and support teams in executing quality improvement activities.
  • Work hands‑on in a plant environment, directly supporting engine assembly operations.
  • Apply knowledge of GD&T and CMM operations during quality evaluation and process optimization.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge and growing professional expertise in quality engineering or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of key business drivers and ability to work independently within defined guidelines.
  • Experience leading small projects or owning processes as needed.
  • Product knowledge of transmissions, axles, or engines.
  • Hands‑on experience with SPC, MSA, and PFMEA.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
