Responsibilities- Perform design and release of exterior lighting components including headlamp and rear lamp assemblies from concept through production; create CAD models and drawings in CATIA V5 and V6 or NX, applying GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design for manufacturability and assembly; prepare bills of materials, statements of requirements for RFQ, and cost and feasibility inputs for supplier nomination; plan part timing to meet vehicle milestones and follow the PLM change-control process;
conduct packaging and mounting studies to satisfy styling, thermal, photometric, electrical harness, and regulatory requirements; support DFMEA, PFMEA, process flow, APQP, PPAP, and DVP&R validation with cross-functional teams and suppliers; track test results, perform problem solving and corrective actions, and verify effectiveness prior to gateway reviews; prepare design concept sheets, technical files, and release documentation, and provide status updates and risk mitigation summaries to stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering and five years of experience.
