Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Mechatronics Systems Engineering group to support vehicle calibration, testing, and data analysis activities, while contributing to system‑level design.
- Contribute to the design and development of eDrive architecture by understanding system and subsystem requirements for the inverter/eMotor system from both external and internal sources.
- Perform inverter/eMotor system requirements analysis and support modeling to define the optimum system design.
- Carry out competitor analysis (benchmarking) of various inverter/eMotor system solutions in the transportation market.
- Support the development, documentation, and verification of mechatronic system control software strategies through simulation, calibration, vehicle evaluation, and peer reviews.
- Collect and analyze data from vehicles, test benches, dynos, and manufacturing environments; assist in root‑cause investigations and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with the vehicle applications team to define and refine software control logic and calibration strategies.
- Adhere to established quality management systems and follow all relevant policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure safe execution of tasks for self and others.
- Contribute to the development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for validation activities.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Vehicle and system‑level testing using standardized methods and practices, including data acquisition and analysis.
- Simulation, calibration, and verification of mechatronic system control software strategies.
- Data collection and analysis from vehicles, test benches, dynos, and manufacturing environments.
- Collaboration with internal teams to define and refine software control logic and calibration strategies.
- Adherence to quality management systems (IATF
16949) and all relevant procedures. - Knowledge of safety policies and regulations for safe task execution.
- Development of test methods, procedures, and custom equipment for validation activities.
- Ability to perform additional duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of data acquisition tools and techniques.
- Exposure to simulation and analysis using MATLAB.
- Understanding of electromechanical systems used in driveline applications.
- Apply engineering principles and Magna culture to practical, real‑life application projects.
- Contribute to the eDS group and advance the progress of Magna’s electrified products.
- Advance knowledge of automotive electrified powertrains and driveline components.
- Learn detailed design and development of inverter/eMotor system technologies for eDrive applications.
- Gain working knowledge of data acquisition tools and techniques.
- Gain exposure to simulation and analysis using MATLAB.
- Understand electromechanical systems used in driveline applications.
