Responsibilities- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) Product Launch skills – Gate review process
- Knowledge and understanding of IATF-16949 to fulfill certification requirements
- Managing Check fixture & Suppliers (gauges) – Create method plans, purchase orders, review design with customer and/or plants for approval, work with customer for gauge acceptance.
- Monitoring quality levels of prototypes, pre‑production parts, and initial samples.
- Acting as the primary contact for quality up to the point of handover to the production location
- Supporting the production locations if required
- Passing through KA gates system in the project (defined tasks) specified in the PDP
- Storing relevant documents in CIM DATABASE, according to the workflow
- Facilitate Technical Risk review – lessons learned (GoBench Database)
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Critical Characteristic (CC) Significant Characteristic (SC). Able to navigate CAD software
- Analyze inspection data from die and assembly builds
- Review new business quotes for potential quality risks
- Creating and facilitating program team review of core tool documents (Process flow, Control Plan, FMEA (VDA knowledge) – (Plato Eins software)
- Manage gauge supplier for conformity, quality, and timely delivery of gauges
- Send out request for quotes for engineering changes
- Some travel (Gauge shops, Customers, and Plant support), approximately 25%
- Understanding of AIAG 5 Core Tools i.e. PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and FMEA(VDA) requirements
- Understanding of GR&R (repeatability and reproducibility) requirements.
- Statistical Process Control, customer‑specific requirements.
- IATF 16949 exposure preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective problem‑solving skills (8D) and decision‑making skills
- Ability to read blueprint drawings
- Bachelor’s University Degree or College Diploma specializing in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Metallurgical Engineering or equitable years of experience in lieu of a degree (15 years).
- 5 or more years’ experience in a Quality and Engineering environment in manufacturing/automotive industry
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Significant Characteristics (SC) selection, Statistical Process Control, customer‑specific requirements.
- Good understanding of customer specific test methods applicable to part requirements
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) body of knowledge
- CAD exposure, able to at least navigate Teams Center, Viz View, Auto CAD, step files or JT files.
