We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Technical Specialist to support the design, development, and testing of advanced EV, hybrid, and related systems.
Job SummaryAs an Electrical Technical Specialist, you’ll play a key role in the development of high‑voltage battery packs, distribution systems, and system integration. You’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and suppliers to design electrical systems, support controls development, and validate performance through hands‑on testing and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities- Design and document electrical architectures
, schematics
, wiring diagrams
, and component selections for Li‑ion battery systems and HV distribution components - Lead and support system engineering activities
, including requirements
, DFMEAs
, DVPs
, and vehicle integration - Assist in controls and software development
, including system calibration and troubleshooting - Support validation test planning and prototype testing
- Utilize tools such as SPICE/PSpice,
LabVIEW
, CAN tools
, and battery test equipment - Participate in hardware reviews
, including PCB design using Altium (OrCAD or other experience may be considered) - Develop and coordinate build, assembly, inspection, and test documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful design and validation
- Follow lab and vehicle test procedures to evaluate system performance and interactions
- Support additional engineering activities as needed
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering from an accredited institution
- Alternative qualifications and experience may be considered
- 7–15 years of experience in electrical system design for electric or hybrid vehicles
- Proficient in system engineering methodologies and system architecture design
- Experience with tools and platforms including:
- MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
- LabVIEW
- Controls platforms (Moto Hawk, dSPACE, ETAS)
- SPICE/PSpice
- Experience with high‑voltage battery design, assembly, and service strongly preferred
- Familiarity with vehicle control systems, EV industry standards, and military standards strongly preferred
- Experience with PCB design software (Altium) is a plus
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
- A proactive mindset and attention to detail
