We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Hardware Design Engineer with strong expertise in motor control systems and power electronics
. This role is responsible for designing and developing cost-effective, high-performance hardware solutions for power tools and related equipment. The engineer will own the complete hardware development lifecycle, from concept and design through validation, manufacturing support, and production release, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
- Design and develop motor control hardware systems, including power stages, control circuitry, and protection circuits.
- Create and maintain schematics, PCB layouts, and hardware prototypes.
- Design, develop, and optimize AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuits.
- Develop and enhance motor control solutions for BLDC, PMSM, and brushed motor applications.
- Perform motor control testing, design validation, EMI/EMC testing, and regulatory compliance verification.
- Create, maintain, and improve hardware test setups for motor control verification and validation.
- Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) activities.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues in laboratory environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in hardware design and motor control systems development.
- Strong experience in power electronics design and development.
- Hands‑on experience performing motor control verification using custom laboratory test setups.
- Expertise in PCB design and schematic capture tools such as Altium Designer and OrCAD.
- Strong knowledge of BLDC and PMSM motor control systems.
- Understanding of EMI/EMC design principles, testing, and compliance requirements.
- Extensive hands‑on laboratory debugging and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience establishing and managing hardware laboratories for motor control testing and validation.
- Experience designing closed‑loop motor control test environments and automated verification setups.
- Familiarity with power tools, industrial equipment, or similar motor‑driven products.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to balance cost, performance, and reliability in product designs.
- Hands‑on engineering approach with strong ownership mindset.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Continuous improvement and innovation mindset.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior engineering talent.
