Electrical Designer

As an Electrical Designer at Peter Basso Associates, you’ll join project teams working with top architects, contractors, and facility owners across diverse markets - education, healthcare, research, institutional, multi‑family, and mixed‑use. You'll apply creative solutions to complex challenges and contribute to projects from concept through construction.

• Experience in designing any one of the following electrical systems:
  • Power Distribution Systems
    , including medium and low voltage distribution systems, standby power applications, load calculations, short circuit and coordination studies, arc flash hazard.
  • Lighting Systems
    , including calculations, lighting controls, luminaire selections and architecturally integrated lighting systems.
  • Auxiliary Systems
    , including fire alarm systems, voice/data structured cabling systems, access control, CCTV and other low voltage systems design.
• Associate's degree or studies toward a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Engineering‑related curriculum from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial building systems design.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to work together with the project manager, discipline lead engineer and all team members on assigned engineering tasks assuring technical expectations, schedule and manpower budgets are met.
• Knowledge of all design disciplines coordination required and the impact on the project.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
• Team‑oriented problem‑solving skills and decision‑making ability.
• Detail oriented, self‑motivated, and flexible.
