Position
Biomedical Equipment Technician II – Channel Services. Requires installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance verification of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision.
Location and TravelDetroit, Michigan. Field service with frequent travel to client hospital sites in the region. Company car provided. Approximately 75% of the week spent traveling or at client sites.
CompensationHourly range: $27–$33.

Responsibilities- Technical Service
- Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex biomedical equipment.
- Repair, install, and calibrate complex biomedical equipment.
- Inform supervisors of repair status, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns.
- Coordinate and document activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to assure proper service delivery.
- Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education.
- Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of the equipment database (inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, service history).
- Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and all regulatory and policy requirements.
- Ensure all service documentation is complete, timely, and accurate.
- Account Relationship Management
- Build and maintain customer relationships.
- Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
- Represent Tri Medx services positively by integrating core values into performance.
- Inventory
- Perform periodic inspections of current inventory status.
- Verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment.
- Conduct Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices (trial, evaluation, rental, loaner, and permanently assigned equipment).
- Maintain database accuracy and integrity.
- Make inventory recommendations.
- Travel
- Consistent travel required – up to 75% of time, primarily regional.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment.
- Valid driver’s license; variable travel may require use of a personal vehicle.
- Advanced computer skills: system administration, error code interpretation, hard‑drive defragmentation, power‑supply replacement, networking concepts.
- Ability to integrate information from multiple sources.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
- Two‑year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience. Waiver available for TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification program.
