R&D Product Development Engineering Intern

Job Overview:
As an Intern in TE Connectivity's Automotive Business Unit, you'll support engineering and customer programs that help create a safer, more connected future. You'll:

  • Assist Resident Engineers in mapping TE connectors to vehicle platforms, architectures, devices, and wiring harnesses.
  • Track OEM vehicle topology, system requirements, product designs, testing specifications, and architecture changes.
  • Support engineering sample preparation, testing, vehicle build events, and pilot programs.
  • Coordinate customer requirements, program timing, deliverables, and engineering changes.
  • Support DVPR and Supplier Change Request (SCR) activities and collaborate with TE product engineers and OEM approval teams.
  • Gain hands-on experience with OEM customer and TE systems, engineering change processes, and customer approvals.

Responsibilities:
Provide technical support during customer build events and vehicle assembly plant investigations. Participate in issue reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Serve as a first responder to customer technical, design, and quality requests. Collaborate with account managers, product engineers, product managers, and automotive team members to support customer needs and business growth.

You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:

  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED
  • Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university—or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
  • Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation:
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $20.91 – 45.04/hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
