Job Description

You will be the Production Test Engineer - 1st Shift (Tues-Fri) for the Missile Assembly team. Our team is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of automated test equipment, creating the manufacturing test planning, and providing electro‑mechanical integration support to Production Operations at Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control in Troy, Alabama.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Production Test Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support during the missile assembly, integration and test process. You will play a critical role in supporting the development of automated test equipment, preparing test procedures, and troubleshooting test anomalies.

Your Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
  • Supporting the development of automated test equipment and manufacturing test process planning
  • Interpreting engineering data for test procedure creation along with providing hands-on technical support during the electro‑mechanical integration process
  • Conducting failure analysis of various test anomalies by applying detailed troubleshooting and formal root‑cause analysis methods for determining corrective/preventative actions
  • Evaluating electrical test results utilizing statistical data analysis for trend analysis for preventing future test issues

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
-This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim-Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications

Degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline at the Bachelor level and 1 year professional experience Master level without experience; or 5 years of related professional experience.

Experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, specifications and schematics.

Experience conducting detailed failure analysis to determine root cause and implement the corrective / preventative actions.

Must be willing and able to work Tues-Friday 1st Shift.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills

Active DoD Secret Clearance

Knowledge / experience with (1) electronic circuits, (2) automated test software, (3) manufacturing test in a production environment, (4) the ability to interpret engineering requirements, (5) evaluating electrical test results, (6) conducting detailed failure analysis, (7) developing and implementing root cause and corrective / preventative actions and (8) utilizing statistical data analysis for trend analysis.

Previous experience working with Radio Frequency (RF) equipment and RF testing methodologies is highly desired.

Previous experience with programming languages C, C#, C++, Visual C or Visual Basic, and National Instrument Lab-Windows CVI, Test-Stand and NI Lab-View software.
