The Industrial & Systems Engineering team improves manufacturing performance through practical engineering, data analysis, and technology-driven solutions. The team serves as an internal consulting partner to Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Finance, and Innovation & Sciences, helping transform opportunities into measurable operational improvements.

As an intern, you'll gain hands-on exposure to industrial engineering in a real manufacturing environment. You'll spend time on the production floor working alongside manufacturing leaders and frontline employees, conducting observations, collecting data, and developing solutions that improve safety, efficiency, quality, and overall operational performance.

How would an intern contribute to the team’s success:

We are seeking a highly motivated Industrial Engineering student with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for solving complex operational challenges.

This intern will independently identify opportunities, analyze manufacturing processes and data, engage stakeholders, test solutions, and drive recommendations through implementation. Success in this role requires curiosity, initiative, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a focus on delivering measurable business results.

The intern will work closely with manufacturing leaders, engineers, technical teams, and frontline employees to improve operational performance and support key business priorities.

An example of a typical project would be:
Example #1 - Changeover Optimization
  • Analyze manufacturing changeover processes, identify efficiency opportunities, and recommend improvements that reduce downtime and increase productivity.

Example #2 - Time Studies & Line Balancing
  • Conduct time studies, workflow observations, and production analyses to identify bottlenecks, improve labor utilization, and balance production lines more effectively.

Example #3 - Ergonomics & Safety Improvements
  • Evaluate workstations and manufacturing processes to identify ergonomic risks and opportunities to improve employee safety, comfort, and productivity.

Academic Eligibility:

Students who will have completed their junior year by the start of the internship and have an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and April 2028.
