About the Job

Join Independent Bank as a Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Group Manager where you will manage a Commercial Banking team, ensuring conformity with Bank goals and growth strategy, and help advance our mission of inspiring financial independence today with tomorrow in mind! In this role you will report to our Regional Commercial President making and servicing all types of secured and unsecured Commercial loans.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for recruiting and retaining highly qualified and talented individuals within the department.
  • Develop a strategy to meet bank and corporate goals and objectives.
  • Participate in corporate visioning/strategy activities.
  • Manage portfolio and lending staff to achieve corporate goals.
  • Manage portfolio to minimize delinquency and exceptions.
  • Develop and train lending and support staff to ensure efficiency and high quality.
  • Participate in the decision-making process ensuring that action on loan terms and conditions meets established credit extension policies.
  • Assist in the development of sound credit policies.
  • Monitor and facilitate early identification and resolution of potential problem loan situations.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with other operating areas within the Bank.
  • Perform normal loan origination and monitoring processes.

    Represent the Bank in various civic and community functions to enhance its image and promote new business.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor of Administration or Bachelor of Science degree with strength in business, finance, accounting, and economics.
  • Master of Business Administration preferred.
  • 15+ years of commercial banking experience, with formal credit training preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
  • Functional expertise including finance, accounting, computer, and other financial-related skills.
