About the Team:
We are the financial operations and accounting team behind the MSU-HCI (Healthcare Inc) PSA and System Medical Education. Our work sees that resources are managed responsibly and strategically, empowering educators, clinicians, and researchers to deliver world class medical education and drive innovation in health sciences. We ensure accurate financial management, strengthen fiscal accountability, and provide the analytical insight needed to advance medical education and the shared academic mission.
About the Role:
Under minimal supervision of the Director, performs and/or manages work of a generally complex nature aimed at assisting decision making in resource allocation and/or improving the financial performance of HFHS. Plans and coordinates use of resources as required. Prepares reports and recommendations for management and coordinates implementation when possible. Acts as a consultant on projects outside of specific assignments.
Daily Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Provides analytical support for System Medical Education and MSU PSA to contribute to the attainment of short and long range financial and business goals.
* Perform month-end financial process including analysis, journal entries, and financial reporting.
* Partners with the operational leaders in the annual budget process.
* Preparation of financial return on investment (ROI) requests.
* Works independently to manage complex projects involving coordination of multiple participants and teams aimed at assisting decision making in resource allocation and/or improving the financial performance of HFHS. Maintains a high level of responsibility for
completion of assignments/projects.
* Acts as a leader for individuals or multi-analyst assignments/projects. Prepares plans and coordinates resources as required.
* Is responsible for the following:
* Developing projects/assignments work plan.
* Facilitates and/or leads team projects.
* Provides updates to management.
* Coordinates written and verbal presentations of findings, conclusions and recommendations.
* Conceptualizes ideas, develops work plan, and executes plan. Develops and determines priorities and monitors status of projects on an ongoing basis.
* Works with all levels of staff/management.
* Conducts interviews with users and performs various data gathering techniques.
* Fosters teamwork with all involved parties to ensure efficiency.
* Documents current systems and operations. Analyzes client systems, procedures and operations and identifies opportunities for improvement. Identifies and tests alternative methods and procedures and identifies associated costs and benefits.
* Defines requirements to modify existing procedures or develops new system implementation of revised or new methods.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Required:
* Requires a Bachelors Degree in Finance, accounting, or a related field. Masters Degree is preferred.
* Requires a minimum of five to seven years in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
* Previous supervisory and/or consulting experience is preferred.
