TeamOur Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice serves middle‑market and large‑cap private equity firms, helping them improve operating results at their portfolio companies.
OPEN TO ALL U.S. LOCATIONSHow You Will ContributeAdvise companies on revenue and margin management, including margin transparency, product portfolio optimization, SKU rationalization, new product development, pricing, and margin recovery. Lead teams that execute ongoing revenue and margin management programs and deliver data‑driven insights.
Responsibilities- Evaluate current cost allocation processes and mechanisms.
- Assess profitability by market, customer, product category, SKU.
- Identify and quantify complexity‑driven costs‑to‑serve.
- Identify improvements for future product costing analyses and implementation.
- Assess potential for and implement cost‑to‑serve premiums and targeted price adjustments.
- Assess competitive landscape and customer trends.
- Evaluate product portfolio and develop category‑specific sales and investment strategies.
- Implement SKU rationalization and complexity‑reduction initiatives.
- Assess pricing strategies and quantify profitability opportunities through value pricing, transactional pricing, leakage, discounts, and pass‑through.
- Improve pricing processes and approval controls.
- Implement price increases based on market factors and contracts.
- Review costs to serve and identify recovery opportunities.
- Improve quoting processes to recover costs.
- Project management: design roadmaps, manage teams, deliver final deliverables.
- Project fulfillment: provide analytical rigor and actionable insights, including margin transparency, pricing analysis, dashboards, segmentation, and statistical modeling.
- Data manipulation & analysis: use Excel, SQL, BI tools (Alteryx, Tableau), and statistical programs (SPSS, R).
- People & team leadership: motivate, develop, and mentor team members.
- Client relations: manage day‑to‑day client interactions and collaborate with internal teams.
- 7–10+ years focused on revenue and margin with pricing experience.
- Strong financial acumen, understanding of P&L and cost drivers.
- Experience with value‑based, transactional, discount leakage, and pass‑through pricing.
- Analytical skills and experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, SPSS, R.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional project management and presentation skills.
- People development and management experience.
- Consulting experience preferred.
- MBA from a top‑tier university preferred.
