Primary

Function

The Loan Officer Assistant position allows someone with the desire to enter the mortgage business an opportunity to do so without prior experience. The role supports a sales team to retain as many purchase customers as possible, assisting with front‑end processes such as communicating with customers, collecting documents, analyzing documents, and submitting files to our operations team. This 10–12 month program culminates in obtaining a loan officer license by passing the SAFE exam, after which the individual may be promoted to a producing loan officer.

Principal

Duties
  • Work independently in a fast‑paced environment with a high volume of loan files.
  • Contact pre‑qualified customers to obtain documents needed for pre‑approval.
  • Analyze income and asset documentation to issue a pre‑approval.
  • Once a customer is under contract, work with them to complete e‑signatures and collect any additional documents needed to submit a full file to our operations team.
  • Work with the operations team on troubleshooting missing information or underwriting requirements.
  • Provide consumers with a superior level of customer service.
  • Stay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industry.
  • Attend or assist with scheduled meetings, training sessions, and courses.
  • Maintain compliance with all industry‑specific federal and state licensed activity requirements and the company’s Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional projects and duties assigned by management.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Two‑year college degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Must qualify for and obtain state licensure in the states where the company does business.
  • Sales and customer service experience is a plus.

Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Working on‑site at an assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to a schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening or weekend hours to meet deadlines or business needs.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
Compensation

Good Faith Estimate: $15,080.00 – $60,000.00. Compensation may also include medical, financial, paid time off benefits, and a bonus based on individual and company performance, variable or annual. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and location.

Additional Requirements

All employees are required to have smartphones that meet company security standards and can install apps such as Microsoft Authenticator. Employment is contingent on meeting this requirement.
