Tax Manager / Senior Tax Accountant
A well-established and highly respected wealth management firm in the Metro Detroit area is seeking an experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. Position Overview
The Tax Manager / Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and review of client tax returns, proactive tax planning, and ongoing client advisory services. The successful candidate will work closely with wealth advisors and clients to identify opportunities that minimize tax liabilities and support long-term financial goals. This position does not initially include staff supervision responsibilities, allowing the individual to remain focused on client service, tax compliance, and planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for:
High-net-worth individuals Trusts and estates Small businesses and closely held entities - Provide year-round tax planning and advisory services to clients
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategic tax solutions
- Analyze client financial information and ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Research tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and advisors
- Coordinate with wealth management professionals to deliver integrated financial and tax planning solutions
- Assist clients with tax notices and other compliance-related matters
- Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
Work Schedule
50–60 hours per week during tax season Return to a standard detail oriented schedule outside of tax season 100% in-office position
