The Director of Accounting Systems is responsible for leading the organization's financial system strategy, reporting tool optimizations and user adoption initiatives. This role oversees the implementation and enhancement of accounting and financial software solutions, drives system upgrades, and leads the redesign of financial reporting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability. Key responsibilities include directing enterprise-wide system implementations and upgrades, managing cross-functional training and change management efforts, and ensuring alignment of financial systems and processes across departments.

The Director partners closely with Operations, Asset Management, IT, and Business Systems teams to support financial performance, operational excellence, and data-driven decision making. The position also serves as a key steward of financial controls and reporting integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure that accounting processes, financial reporting, and system configurations comply with applicable accounting standards and organizational policies.

• Develop and execute the organization's financial system strategy to support business objectives, operational efficiency and scalable growth
• Lead the implementation, enhancement, integration and maintenance of accounting and financial reporting systems
• Oversee system upgrades and provide software evaluations to ensure successful implementation and user adoption
• Manage financial reporting tools and drive process improvements that enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency and user experience
• Optimize financial reporting and accounting workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, standardization and efficiency gains
• Develop and deliver training documentation and user support resources to increase system adoption and proficiency
• Create and maintain governance standards, policies, and procedures related to financial systems and reporting processes
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes through effective system management and reporting capabilities
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial systems effectively support strategic business objectives and operational excellence.
• Lead financial systems efforts while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
• Support the development of short and long-term company growth strategies
• Other duties/responsibilities/special projects as assigned
