Job Description The Director of Macroeconomic Strategy supports forward-looking market/economic analysis that informs Ameriprise's investment strategy, asset allocation, and advisor/client guidance. The role enhances the firm's market and economic research capabilities through forecasting frameworks, analytical models, dashboards, publications, and communications that identify risks, opportunities, and investment implications. Working closely with senior investment leaders, the position translates complex market and economic developments into actionable insights for clients and advisors.

The Director of Macroeconomic Strategy primarily supports the Chief Market Strategist and Chief Economist at Ameriprise Financial. The role helps facilitate the following:

Market & Economic Strategy Support:
Partner with the Chief Market Strategist and Chief Economist to develop market and economic outlooks, investment themes, scenario analyses, and forward-looking perspectives. Help evaluate the implications of changing market and economic conditions for asset allocation, portfolio positioning, and advisor/client guidance.

Research and Analysis:
Conduct independent analysis of economic indicators, financial markets, earnings trends, valuations, monetary policy, and cross-asset developments. Identify emerging risks, opportunities, and shifts in market and economic conditions that may influence investment outcomes and portfolio decisions.

Models, Forecasting, and Dashboards:
Build, support, and enhance the firm's market and economic forecasting frameworks, analytical models, dashboards, and scenario analysis capabilities. Develop systematic approaches for monitoring growth, inflation, policy, valuations, market conditions, and other indicators used to inform the firm's market and economic outlook

Publications and Communications:
Develop and contribute content for market and economic publications, including Ameriprise's Before the Bell, Did You Know, After the Close, Weekly Market Perspectives, Economic Perspectives, market commentaries, presentations, and other advisor- and client-facing communications. Translate market and economic developments into clear, actionable insights that support investment decision-making and are consumable by retail investors.

Engagement and

Innovation: Support market and economic presentations, advisor and client events, media-related activities, video content, and other thought-leadership initiatives across the firm. Leverage Bloomberg, Fact Set, AI-enabled research tools, and other technologies to expand market/economic research capabilities, improve analytical workflows/messaging, and strengthen research scalability.

Preferred location is Troy, Michigan, but qualified candidates will be considered in Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years' experience in investment research, portfolio management, or strategy

Bachelor's degree or equivalentFINRA Series 7 required upon hire Active State securities agent registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days Active State IAR registration (S65 or S66) or ability to obtain within 90 days

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in economics or finance, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Market Technician (CMT)
Strong knowledge in market and economic analysis

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
