Financial Analyst /FP&A Associate
Compensation: $80,000-$110,000
Location: Troy, MI
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
This is an on-site position in our Troy, MI headquarters. We are not considering relocation for out-of-state candidates.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Financial Analyst/FP&A Associate to join our team. This role is pivotal in driving financial visibility and performance across the state of Michigan. You will partner closely with the CFO to deliver actionable insights, support strategic decision-making, and ensure rigorous financial discipline in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monthly FP&A Cadence:Lead budget vs. actual analysis, forecast updates, and support management reporting packages.
- Job Cost & WIP Analysis:Analyze construction-style % of completion, retainage, and under/over billings to ensure accurate revenue recognition and margin visibility.
- General Ledger & Fixed Asset:Support month end closing, general ledger account reconciliations, financial statement analysis and budget variance analysis.
- Operational KPI Reporting:Develop and maintain dashboards for crew productivity, fleet utilization, safety trends, and job data quality.
- Systems & Data Analytics:Build and enhance Power BI dashboards; collaborate with BI/data teams; extract and validate data from ERP systems (Viewpoint Vista, One Stream).
Strategic Business Partnership: Partner with operations, estimating, fleet, and project management teams to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making.
- Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Perform special projects, trend analysis, and other financial studies as requested by executive leadership.
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Experience:Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles. Construction/heavy civil/industrial experience strongly preferred.
- Technical
Skills:- Advanced Excel modeling and financial analysis
- Power BI dashboard development
- ERP experience (Viewpoint Vista)
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting and P&L drivers
- Soft Skills:Analytical mindset, attention to detail, ability to communicate insights to both finance and operations teams.
Construction Season: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m-5:00 p.m.
Off-Season: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m-4:00 p.m.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to meet financial reporting deadlines and business demands.
