Overview

The Michigan State Lottery, established under Public Act 239 of 1972, generates funds to support Michigan’s public‑school system by selling Lottery tickets at retail locations and online. Profits are used to supplement state education programs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of licensed charitable gaming operations and ensure compliance with the Michigan Bingo Act, administrative rules, and division directives.
  • Review operational and financial records of licensed organizations.
  • Provide training and technical advice to licensees, and introduce new games.
  • Analyze licensee game programs for profitability.
  • Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with division procedures.
  • Investigate complaints from citizens and inspect licensed suppliers, equipment, and gaming halls.
Territorial Assignment

Two vacancies, one in District 5 and one in District 6. Assigned areas are listed below:

  • District 5:
    Huron, Sanilac, St. Clair, Lapeer, Tuscola, Bay, Macomb, Genesee
  • District 6:
    Oakland, Livingston, Wayne, Washtenaw, Monroe
Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in any major.
  • No specific experience required for Regulation Agent 9.
  • One year of professional experience providing regulation and investigative services for Regulation Agent 10.
  • Two years of professional experience—including one year for Regulation Agent 10—for Regulation Agent P11.
Alternate

Education and Experience
  • High‑school graduate with at least two years of full‑time active‑duty experience at or above the E‑6 level in uniformed services may substitute for the education requirement.
  • Two years of experience as an investigator or detective in law enforcement, U.S. Armed Services, or a private agency conducting criminal or corporate investigations (including fraud, embezzlement, and security threats) may substitute for the entry‑level requirement; three years for the intermediate level, four years for the experienced level, and five years for the advanced level.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Background check and pre‑employment drug screening per Civil Service Regulation requirements.
