Overview
Merchant Services / Technical Support Specialist
We are seeking a Merchant Services / Technical Support Specialist to support our business clients by maintaining and troubleshooting payment processing solutions. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and an interest in payment technologies. You will serve as a primary point of contact for merchants, ensuring smooth account operations and resolving technical issues related to payment processing systems.
Responsibilities- Complete merchant account maintenance requests (e.g., demographic updates, bank changes, account modifications)
- Assist merchants with deposits and reconciliation inquiries
- Troubleshoot technical and processing issues related to payment terminals, gateways, and system integrations
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and live chat
- Support POS systems, eCommerce payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, , Pay Pal), and terminal setups
- Monitor, manage, and resolve support tickets efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate client records and detailed service notes within CRM systems
- Monitor and assist with chargebacks and dispute resolution processes
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies
- Proactively engage with merchants to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities to upsell services
- Educate merchants on system best practices, fraud prevention, and secure transaction handling
- Document recurring issues and solutions to support internal knowledge bases
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service
- 1–3 years of experience in merchant services, payment processing, or financial services (preferred, not required)
- Familiarity with credit card processing, POS systems, and eCommerce platforms (preferred, not required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
