This position works out of our corporate office in Troy, MI.

Job Summary
The Director of Network Administration & Security is responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's entire IT network infrastructure across corporate offices, distribution centers, and retail stores. This leadership role ensures maximum uptime, high performance, and robust security for all data communications. A primary focus of this role is maintaining strict Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance to protect customer payment data.
As a senior leader, the Director will manage the network team, oversee vendor relationships, SLA’s, and manage the network budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Strategy & Leadership: Define the vision and strategic direction for network architecture, ensuring scalability to support retail growth, POS systems, and E-commerce needs.
- PCI Compliance & Security: Act as the subject matter expert for network security, ensuring all systems are compliant with PCI DSS standards. Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and secure segmentation of the cardholder data environment.
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including VMWare/ESXi, switches, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor network performance to ensure high availability and stability, particularly for point-of-sale (POS) systems across all retail locations.
- Risk Management & Security: Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify risks.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop, test, and maintain network disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and train a team of network administrators and engineers.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Coordinate with vendors and ISPs for network services, negotiate contracts, and manage the annual network budget.
Required Qualifications
- Certification: Active CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is required.
- Infrastructure Management Technical Skills: Deep technical working experience with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), LAN/WAN technologies, firewalls Fortinet and SD-WAN solutions.
- Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of PCI DSS requirements and experience conducting PCI audits.
- Scripting and Power shell: In-depth knowledge of scripting and Powershell for supporting file transports.
- Honeywell Mobility and Extreme Wireless: Knowledge supporting Honeywell mobility and Extreme Wireless networks is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in network administration or engineering, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Fortinet and SLA’s with multiple vendors.
- In-depth experience with Zabbix and Trend Vision One.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
