Business Intelligence Analyst
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, you will develop and maintain BI reports and dashboards, retrieve and analyze data using SQL, and collaborate with various departments to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Responsibilities- Develop, design, test, and maintain BI reports and dashboards.
- Retrieve, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources using SQL.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency throughout BI architecture.
- Identify trends, patterns, and insights from data to support business strategies.
- Create and maintain documentation for data processes, report configurations, and analytical methodologies.
- Conduct data validation and troubleshooting to resolve issues in dashboards, reports, or data.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.
- Adhere to a set schedule.
- Planning/organizing – Prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently.
- Interpersonal skills – Maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas, and exhibit willingness to try new things.
- Oral communication – Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, and demonstrate group presentation skills.
- Written communication – Edit work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively, and interpret written information.
- Problem solving – Identify and resolve problems timely, gather and analyze information skillfully, and maintain confidentiality.
- Quality control – Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitoring own work to ensure quality.
- Adaptability – Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and handle frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Safety and security – Observe safety and security procedures, using equipment and materials properly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft T‑SQL and MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional telephone demeanor and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment and resourcefulness.
- Proven experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- At least 3 years of experience developing and supporting BI reports and dashboards.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience developing and supporting Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent task/project management tools.
- Business analysis experience.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R.
- Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for keyboard, mouse and telephone use 7–8 hours per day.
- Speech and hearing sufficient for in‑person and telephone communication 7–8 hours per day.
- Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
- Sedentary position, ability to sit at a desk 7–8 hours per day.
- No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Lifting and/or carrying small and/or large objects.
- Standing, reaching, kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing and pulling may be required.
Compensation for this position is competitive and allows for growth based on skills, experience, work location, and additional factors.
