AWS Modernization Architect

Technology Brief

Responsible for designing, implementing, and documenting AWS cloud foundation architecture. Evaluates customer environments and recommends cloud adoption and migration strategies, ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-optimized solutions using AWS services.

• Expertise in migrating on-prem workloads to AWS using the 7R migration strategy
• Strong experience in designing target cloud architecture
• Hands‑on with AWS migration tools (e.g., MGN, DMS, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking and security (VPC, IAM, KMS, SGs, NACLs, etc.)
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Cloud Formation and/or Terraform
• Hands‑on experience in building and supporting AWS environments
• Experience designing cloud‑native solutions using AWS services
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end cloud architecture and infrastructure design
• Experience in developing cloud workflows, automation, and processes
• Designing monitoring and observability solutions using AWS native services (Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of AWS Well‑Architected Framework.

• AWS PaaS services:
  Lambda, ECS, EKS, IAM, etc.
• CI/CD implementation using AWS Dev Ops tools (Code Pipeline, Code Build, Code Deploy)
• Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
• Exposure to tools like Cloud Custodian, Elastic Stack (ELK/EFK)
• Multi‑cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and define architecture solutions
• Ensure adherence to security, development, and infrastructure standards
• Lead on‑prem to AWS migration and modernization programs
• Provide architectural governance and oversight
• Mentor junior team members and support skill development
• Perform capacity planning, sizing, and cloud optimization
• Define cloud adoption strategy and modernization roadmap
