The Buyer supports purchasing activities for production materials and services across Toyoda Gosei North America and its manufacturing locations. This position works closely with suppliers and internal teams to manage costs, source materials, support new programs, and ensure timely procurement of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate pricing, cost reductions, and supplier agreements.
  • Support annual cost-saving initiatives and purchasing strategies.
  • Coordinate sourcing activities for new and existing materials.
  • Manage RFQs, analyze supplier quotes, and recommend sourcing decisions.
  • Assist with new product launches by working with suppliers, plants, and cross-functional teams.
  • Monitor market trends and material costs to support budgeting and negotiations.
  • Maintain purchasing data and purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and global teams on sourcing and material strategies.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities and supplier locations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–4 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
  • Strong interest in learning purchasing processes and commodity management.
  • Experience supporting sourcing or purchasing strategies is preferred.
Skills
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
