Dietz Property Group is looking to hire a full-time Director of Facilities & Construction.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Facilities & Construction ("DFC") is the single point of accountability for facilities, maintenance, and construction performance across the DPG multifamily portfolio. This role owns portfolio-wide strategy, standards, preventative maintenance programs, construction execution frameworks, vendor partnerships, compliance, and the development of facilities and construction leadership. This role operates as a peer to Regional Operations leadership and partners closely with Asset Management, Accounting, and Executive Leadership to ensure safe, consistent, and scalable execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

* Establishing and maintaining portfolio-wide facilities and construction standards.

* Owning preventative maintenance programs, inspections, and compliance audits.

* Partnering with Regional Operations and Asset Management on capital planning and execution.

* Reviewing and validating scopes, budgets, timelines, and risks prior to executive and ownership submission.

* Leading national and regional vendor strategies, preferred partnerships, and bulk purchasing programs.

* Directly managing and developing Regional Facilities Directors.

* Serving as the escalation point for facilities, construction, and life-safety risks.

* Owning life-safety, regulatory, and inspection compliance programs.

* Building a facilities and construction leadership pipeline and future-state organizational model.

* Owning the Facilities & Construction scorecard and EOS-related priorities.

ESSENTIAL

SKILLS:

The successful candidate for this position will have at minimum, the following skills, experience, and characteristics:

* Ability to proactively plan facilities, maintenance, and capital investments that reduce emergency work, improve asset longevity, and support operational goals.

* Ability to develop clear, data-driven, decision-ready capital submissions that support timely approvals and minimize rework or approval friction.

* Demonstrated ability to partner with Regional Operations and cross-functional leaders to position Facilities as a proactive, strategic business partner.

* Proven ability to develop, coach, and strengthen maintenance leadership talent to support continuity, scalability, and internal advancement.

* Strong understanding of facilities safety, inspection, and compliance requirements, with the ability to proactively reduce risk and recurring violations.

REQUIREMENTS:

* A commitment to the Company's Core Values.

* 10+ years of experience in facilities, construction, or capital project leadership.

* Multifamily or property management experience strongly preferred.

* Proven experience leading teams across multiple locations.

* Strong project management, vendor negotiation, and risk management skills.

* Willingness to travel across the portfolio.

* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

* This role operates in both office and field environments where you will mainly be sitting at a desk and regularly utilizing a computer/keyboard and phone and occasionally walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
