Position Description

The Concrete Plant Operator is the manufacturing of concrete that meets specifications, all maintenance of the concrete plant, scheduling of onsite personnel, and communication with plant personnel, management, suppliers, customers and paving crews.

Position Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Maintain efficient operation of consistent concrete production for major Highway/Airport paving
• Must have working knowledge of concrete plants, loaders, and the maintenance of equipment
• Knowledgeable in aggregate stockpile management
• Schedules and has an understanding of portable plant set-up/tear down
• Manages plant personnel for production
• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Be able to communicate with all positions of the workforce
• Exhibit honesty and trustworthiness
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient use of computer software, such as Word, Excel and Power Point

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma
• 3 years of Concrete Production experience, or in a related field
• Experience in Plant Operation is preferred

Work Environment/Physical Abilities:

The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements. Also may require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Concrete Plant Operator functions.
