Position
We are looking for a Canner/Packager for our Troy, MI facility. In this role you will set up and operate all equipment for the canning and packaging process. You will be responsible for packaging material and finished products while meeting or exceeding safety, quality, and production targets. You will be working 12‑hour overnight shifts (6 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.) on a two‑week rotating schedule.
Responsibilities- Set up the packaging line, including installation of equipment and placement of appropriately labeled and color‑coded hoppers.
- Clean packaging equipment between alloys to remove residual powder.
- Deliver packaged products to shipping.
- Meet or exceed all safety, environmental, and health goals for the department.
- Meet or exceed quality and productivity goals for production orders.
- Contribute to continual improvement activities.
- Notify lead or supervisor of any problems.
- Assist in other departments (Screening, Remelt, Cladding, Blends, Tape and Paste) as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Basic math skills and organizational ability.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing.
- Ability to safely operate cranes and powered industrial vehicles.
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (6 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.)
