Warehouse, Packaging, Shipping (WPS) Operator
Cabot Corporation is looking for a Warehouse, Packaging, Shipping (WPS) Operator to work at the Tuscola, IL plant. The role ensures proper operation of packaging systems and ancillary equipment, including bag filling, loading, sampling, railcar movement, and bulk truck filling. Operators will also inspect equipment, monitor performance, perform minor maintenance, and maintain safety standards.
Responsibilities- Ensure proper packaging, bagging, storing, labeling, loading, and unloading of final products.
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot the packaging process.
- Collect final product samples for quality control testing.
- Move railcars with a switch engineer (track mobile).
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment and conduct troubleshooting.
- Support the Responsible Care Management System and ISO Management Systems in line with RC14001 and ISO
9001 requirements. - Follow work instructions, procedures, policies and safety training as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred industrial or chemical manufacturing experience.
- Technical excellence with knowledge of troubleshooting, problem solving, process control, and process improvements.
- Experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, aerial work platforms, and switch mobile (track mobile).
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
- General mechanical aptitude and ability to work safely.
- Knowledge of PSM, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
- Compliance with OSHA, RC14001, ISO
9001, PSM regulations.
Work 12 hour rotating shifts – 2 weeks day shift (5:30 am – 5:30 pm) followed by 2 weeks night shift (5:30 pm – 5:30 am).
Pay & BenefitsHourly wage range: $25.10 – $34.53 per hour, with opportunities for increases during training. Eligible for comprehensive benefits from day one and an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
