The TeamA&M’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice focuses on middle market and large-cap private equity firms seeking to improve operating results at portfolio companies. PEPI professionals develop deep functional skills and tailor solutions to client issues. We provide a structured approach to create and capture value, including cost improvements, transformations, mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs.
A&M’s Operations professionals analyze manufacturing operations, supply chain and distribution, procurement, SG&A operations, and sales force effectiveness to identify value creation opportunities and drive improvements for portfolio companies. We assess operations, identify risks to investment, and quantify EBITDA improvement plans for buyers and sellers. The PEPI Operations group is a growing business with opportunities for career advancement and leadership development.
How You Will Contribute- Lead and deliver large, complex client engagements, working with PE leadership to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for portfolio companies.
- Help lead engagements across manufacturing and distribution operations, including organization design, production capacity, efficiency, quality, planning, warehousing, and team capability.
- Evaluate maintainability and operability of production facilities.
- Review current and historical data to understand efficiency and capacity, including equipment conditions, maintenance logs, spare parts, and detailed production numbers.
- Provide shop floor insights by engaging with employees and customers and reviewing data.
- Identify potential cost-improvement opportunities through lean initiatives, outsourcing, or facility consolidation.
- Develop transformation plans to drive changes and identify risks and mitigations.
- Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day client relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
- 7–10+ years of professional industry experience, with at least 4 years specializing in manufacturing and/or distribution functions
- Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Supply Chain Operations;
Manufacturing Operations, S&OP;
Footprint optimization, plant consolidation, and product line transfer;
Manufacturing strategy, Cap Ex planning, Manufacturing 4.0/IIoT;
Lean, Six Sigma, TOC and Value Engineering - Demonstrated track record working with C-suite executives as well as private equity deal and operating partners
- Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis
- Experience designing and leading the execution of change/communications strategies
- Previous strategy and change management experience
- MBA a plus

Compensation & BenefitsThe salary range is $125,000–$190,000 annually, plus a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Information is provided by recruiters during the interview process. Benefits include healthcare, flexible spending accounts, life and disability coverages, a 401(k) plan with discretionary contributions, paid time off (vacation, personal days, sick time, holidays, and parental leave), and other benefits as per eligibility and tenure.
