Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and assembly equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to achieve the organizational goals and objectives.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnoses and repairs various equipment such as production assembly, testing, conveyance, torque, press, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Works with production to correct quality issues along with continuous improvement projects.
- Operates powered industrial trucks, man lifts, overhead cranes, and portable cranes.
- Fabricates equipment and rebuilds tools.
- Rebuilds gearboxes, spindles, and drill units.
- Reads and interprets test equipment data.
- Complies with the OSHA Safety Standards:
Hazard Communication;
Bloodborne Pathogens;
Lockout;
Permit Required Confined Space;
Hot Work Permit;
Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics. - Participates in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job.
- Follows any other instructions and performs any other duties upon request of the supervisor.
- 2nd shift:
Monday – Friday 1:00 p.m.
- 9:30 p.m. - There is a 50-cent shift premium for all hours worked for the 2nd shift. Time and a half pay for any hours worked over 40 hours during a work week and double time pay on Sundays (only) after completing a 40-hour work week.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing/assembly plant as a Maintenance Technician.
- Experience working with Allen Bradley PLCs is highly desired;
Siemens is preferred. - Robotics maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization.
- Self-directed with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical/electrical problems in a production assembly environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision.
- Strong time management skills, with attention to detail.
