Job Overview:
PRATT Industries is seeking a Welder to join our skilled manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing welding tasks on metal parts and structures used in the production of our high-quality trailers. The Welder will work with a variety of materials and welding techniques to ensure strong, durable, and precise welds that meet PRATT’s strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform welding on various metal components used in trailer manufacturing, including structural frames, chassis, and other parts.
- Use MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques to complete welds according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Set up and operate welding machines and equipment, ensuring proper adjustments for different materials and weld types.
- Inspect and test completed welds to ensure they meet PRATT’s quality and safety standards.
- Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and ensure high-quality output.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Ensure adherence to company quality control processes to produce defect-free work.
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or technical training preferred.
- Proven experience as a welder, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with welding tools and equipment, including safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, precise welds.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
