About the Nursing Resource Pool

The Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) provides flexible nursing support across the hospital. NRP staff, including nurses, nursing assistants, and patient observation aides, are deployed to units that are short‑staffed, allowing them to gain experience caring for a wide variety of patients.

• Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Manage supplies and equipment in designated care areas.
• Deliver care according to the plan of care, unit routines, and hospital policy.
• Document care in the electronic medical record.
• Act as a receptionist and organize daily work assignments based on unit priorities.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk‑mitigating measures and complete all safety‑related competencies and requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires attendance at a full week of corporate orientation. After orientation, the work schedule is Monday‑Friday, 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m. You will be required to attend the entire orientation week consecutively.

• High‑school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program and/or at least one year of nursing assistant experience.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.

Primary location:
Troy Hospital, 44201 Dequindre Rd, Troy. This is a part‑time night shift (7:00p.m. – 7:30a.m.) position with a weekly schedule of 24 hours. Days worked:
Sunday through Saturday. Weekend frequency: every third weekend.
